Hey everyone! With the New Year come the annual recognitions and awards that are given to the best actors, actresses and crew members for the hard work that they have done in the previous year. One such award in the Annual NAACP Image Award which honors projects and individuals that promotes diversity in the arts in television, recording, literature and motion pictures and it is going to hold its 40th award ceremony this year at Shrine Auditorium on Thursday, February 12. The good news is that two stars from Bold and Beautiful have made it to the nomination list this year.

The actors who have been nominated are Dan Martin and Texas Battle who have both been nominated in the same category which is Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series. Though this is the first time that the two actors have been nominated for the awards, the series has been nominated for the awards earlier also under the categories of Outstanding Daytime Drama for Bradley P. Bell in 1993, Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series for Usher as Raymond in 1999, for Antonio Sabato, Jr. as Dante Damiano in 2005 and 2006, and finally for Mykel Shannon Jenkins as Charlie Baker in 2008.

We know Dan Martin as Lieutenant Baker who joined the series in 1997 and for the past twelve years has been involved in the lives of the Forrester, Logan and Marone families. He has become an important cast member as he has been closely entangled with the families as they faced different crisis. His nomination for the NAACP Awards has been due to his work in the storyline where Eric Forrester was poisoned in the series in 2008. Texas Battle is comparatively new to the series in which he first appeared in May 2008. He plays the role of Marcus Walton who has a connection with the Logan family which had been kept a secret by his mother Donna for a long time. His nomination is based on his performance in the storyline where Marcus is reunited with Donna and he tries to make sense of how his mother could have deserted him for such a long time.

Bold and the Beautiful is one of the longest running American daily soap opera which revolves around the complicated and intertwined lives of the members of the Forrester family which is the first name in the Los Angeles fashion world and the Logan family.

Hey all you Bold and the Beautiful fans! Here is some wonderful news for you all. If you want to meet some of the stars of your favorite drama soap, here is your chance to make your dream come true. Winsor Harmon who plays the role of Thorne and Brandon Beemer who plays the role of Owen in the daily soap, are supposed to make a public appearance on the 7th & 8th of February 2009. The two, who will be on a tour with Soap Mania, will make these appearances in Georgia. People can meet, greet and interact with these stars of one of the longest running television shows in America namely Bold and the Beautiful.

On the 7th of February, you can catch the stars at the Anderson Conference Center at 5171 Eisenhower Parkway in Macon. If you are not able to make it on the  7th they can be found at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center at One International Drive in Savannah on the 8th of February. He has done justice to the role of Owen Knight. On the show he plays the role of a private detective who gets himself ingratiated into the lives of the Forrester’s and the Logan’s while helping his client Marcus Walton find his mother, who turns out to be Donna Logan. His character has been spun beautifully into the main storyline and now that he is to stay on the show I have another reason for not missing even a single episode of the series.

Hunter has joined hands with the American Epilepsy Outreach Foundation to spread awareness about the disease. She is to do a nationwide campaign to educate the people about the first-aid tips that can be used to help someone having a seizure. Hunter has a personal reason to spread information among the masses about the killer disease. She lost her nineteen year old son to the disease in the fall of last year, when he had a seizure and fell down and drowned in a pool. Well, I can only say that is a good effort on her part to ensure the safety of many people suffering from the dreadful disease. All I can say to her is we all support you in this good social deed and pray that may your son’s soul rest in peace.

I have always known in my heart that in her personal life Hunter is a really good person. This comes across even on screen in the way she acts and presents herself. She has been one of the longest serving cast members on the series and has done full justice to the character of Taylor. She has a charisma that really makes the audience sympathize with her in every shade of the character. In spite of the various challenges and tragedies that she has faced in her personal life, she has emerged as one of the finest actresses in the series.

It has been reported that the pop star of the series, Phoebe Forrester is to die in the upcoming episodes.

She is supposed to die in a car accident when she grabs the wheel of the car that Rick Forrester is driving. As a result of the ensuing tussle the vehicle will go off the road and Phoebe will be fatally injured. She will die in the arms of her father Ridge Forrester. The accident is supposed to bring a drastic change to the enmity between arch rivals Ridge and Rick. Now that sounds like something to look forward to. Well, I don’t know when the episode is supposed to be telecast but I am sure it will be sometime soon.
